If you aren’t already deeply concerned about the degradation of some segment of society—of government, of business practices, of the economy, of values, of the effects of pollution—then the discussion of social norm and institutional breakdown isn’t going to make sense to you. It would seem irrelevant and possibly alarmist. Check out sources that have solid rationalist arguments about why “business as usual” has an expiration date. Some call this the metacrisis. It is increasingly obvious that culture, governance, and economy will continue to change, no matter which era we consider to be the "good old days", and no matter how many times the establishment tries to prop itself up.
